In 2018, KOLBUS initiated another drastic transformation with the sale of its perfect binder and book production division. KOLBUS continues to actively shape change and drive towards future success with the motto "We are far more than our past". The company is now focussed on specialised machines and systems for packaging production, on casemaking machines and rotary die cutting, together with a busy contract casting and manufacturing division. Visible signs of this change include a new logo and the new corporate branding, underlined by the claim Excellence in Motion, which will be the KOLBUS mission from now on.
“Excellence in Motion exactly expresses what KOLBUS has stood for in the past, still stands for today and will continue to stand for in the future. Working with materials like paper, cardboard and glue demands the highest precision. We ensure that complex movement sequences are optimally coordinated for smooth-running, reliable and efficient production processes,” says Bettina Bürger, Marketing Service at KOLBUS. CEO Wilfried Kröger adds: “The first highlight we are launching as part of our change of focus is our newly developed flexoprint rotary die cutter, the KOLBUS RD 115S. It has been engineered specifically to enable our customers to grow with their requirements. The modular design of the RD 115S makes for a high level of flexibility within a single line, with the option of one or up to eight print units plus module for die cutting corrugated cardboard sheets.”
Despite all the changes, it is always good to be able to rely on a few constants. At KOLBUS, one of these constants is our service quality. Our experienced service technicians pride themselves on getting to our customers fast; alternatively they will help customers solve problems via our remote service system. This excellence, together with our 24/7 spare parts ordering service and original KOLBUS spare parts and consumables, ensures that KOLBUS customers never have to worry about the consistent availability and process reliability of their machines and systems.
The company is optimistic about the future. KOLBUS CEO Wilfried Kröger draws a first positive interim balance: “At KOLBUS we know how to handle change. This and our ability to work together as a team worldwide make me very confident that we will master not only the current changes, but also the many other challenges which we will surely encounter in the years ahead. We will succeed in the future just as we have always done in the past. "
